Shutter speed help? Nikon Coolpix L340

Hi, hopefully I'm posting this in the right place? (New to this site). I got my Nikon Coolpix L340 for Christmas last year, I opened it up and started using it. I can get some brilliant still, macro and sunrise/set photos, but when it comes to action shots they are very blurry! I've played round with the settings but just cannot work out how to adjust shutterspeed (found continuous mode and tried adjusting the ISO), any ideas??? I take photos of horses, so really wanted something ideally to take good action photos, thanks :)

Shooting in "Sports" Mode is about your only option since the L340 does not support Program, Shutter Priority, Aperture Priority, or Manual modes of shooting.
