Last night I went to do some shots of the milky way. Set shutter speed on 20", took the shot. Checked the image on the LCD screen, looked good in focus etc. Hit the remote release for another image here shutter speed was changed to 1/60 of a second. Scratched head thought "OK maybe I hit something." Reset ss to 15" hit release button worked fine. Hit release button again within a few seconds ss was on bulb shutter just stayed open, hit release button again to close shutter. Reset ss again this time paying extremely close attention so as not to touch anything else set to 15" again pushed release button again worked fine. Now all this said I was trying to get images to photo stack. So hit release button again within seconds 1/30 ss. Now the camera was sent back to Nikon in July for a shutter issue but that time the shutter would stay open when set in manual mode but worked fine in auto mode, but who shoots in auto? So my question is do I have to allow the shutter to cool between shoots? Of only 15 to 20 seconds?
