shooting paper weights

This is not something I do, shooting glass. I do a good bit of silver, but purely for cold light documentation, not to make an appealing picture. I only had my ramshackle light box and some side lights to work with in a dim living room. The damask clothe was insisted upon. The image is for web use only and I have not done any nitpicking of dust spots, etc. So what do you think? Passable?

Pretty cool shot but you could have done much more with it. The cloth is leaving reflections on the lower half which is distracting. Me, I would have put it on some kind of stand to support the very bottom of it. Put it against a black background and gave it a hint of light from above and behind to give it a bit of halo effect. Just my opinion.

Hah! The lady actual complimented me on the reflections -- really liked them. I did try on a very dark background, but the weight has a black glass base, so I ended up with what looked like floating flowers and stems. If I had more sophisticated lights, it might have worked..

I appreciate the feedback.

Well you know if you 10 different carpenters how to build something you'll get 10 different answers. If your doing this for someone and their happy than it's a win. The thing with photography is there is no correct way of doing things. Just different ways.
