I posted in another thread about how I thought a bunch of shots I'd taken with a remote trigger looked dark. They did, and I'm still working that problem, but when I imported a bunch of photos from my D500 yesterday I noticed that all the defaults I apply on import (camera profile -> Camera Neutral, Sharpening Mask -> 80, apply lens profile correction and remove chromatic aberration) weren't applied. I was getting Adobe Color as the profile (which darkened it further) and all other settings were defaulted. I applied everything and then discarded and started rebuilding 1:1 previews on over 900 images (yay!!) and then started looking for the Develop -> Set Default option. I don't always update to latest versions of Lightroom as I use it predominantly for cataloging only, but I did update it this week, and guess what? It's not there anymore!!!! After over 20 minutes of going out of my mind looking for it I start googling, and every hit I'm getting tells me it's there. Finally I go to the Adobe site and start hitting their help topics and I see something from April 2020 that leads me to something from November of 2018 that talks about Import Settings and how they've changed how they're applying default settings on import. I go back and check stuff I imported last week and everything is as it should be, so even if they changed the interface the default settings I had specified years ago were still being applied. But not after this latest install. I'm on Lr 9.2.1. Has anyone else out there who uses Lightroom with a set of import defaults noticed that they're no longer there? Was there a message about this from Adobe that I missed? What a PITA.
