The number indicated corresponds to what picture size/quality you have selected at the time. Try double check those settings.

350 Large, Fine, JPG's sounds about right for an 8GB card on a D7100. The *actual* number of shots you will be able to store on one card will vary. I think it's safe to say most people use two 16GB cards in their D7100, personally I use two 32GB cards but mainly because I shoot RAW and the cards were on sale at the time so I bought several.

when i purchase d7100 , i got free 8GB , later i have purchased 32gb and its pic capacity for large format is around 2k

2,000 Large, Fine, JPG's sounds high, even for a 32GB card; I'd think the upper limit would much closer to 1,200, maybe 1,500...
I just checked and my D750 (also 24MPix) says it will hold about 1,200 large, fine JPG's with a single 32GB card installed. Based on that we could assume (roughly) 600 shots on a 16GB and/or 300 on 8GB card.

You should not be worried with this. One thing you don't want to do is keep all your shots on the card for a long period of time.
Get used to transferring your daily files to a computer, create a backup folder and then put the card in the camera and format it BEFORE every day usage.
Otherwise you might loose a lot of shots if for any obscure reason one card goes bad.
And always carry spare cards.
