Scroll wheel behavior in PS cc

Okay this is probably a question with a really easy answer.
When I first installed PS, when I turned the scroll wheel with the paint brush selected the size of the brush changed accordingly. Somehow I've got that changed, so now I scoll up and down the picture instead.
I've tried to find a button to press to revert this, and have googled as well, but without luck.

So can anyone please help this noob? :)

In mine I can disable the zoom-wheel in preferences - general settings. I have no wheel-size option there but maybe you have one in your version.

Scroll wheel zoom is already disabled. I tried turning it on and off again, but it's all the same. I neither have any option for wheel-size. Could this be a feature of an earlier version of PS? I might have had PS 5 or 6 installed at some point, and confused when what features were working... Either way I would still love for my scroll wheel to behave in that manner, so if anyone can point me in the direction, I would be very happy :)

I'm glad it helped. Wasn't sure if it would as I don't use a mouse that has a tilt wheel--found I was doing all kinds of crazy things when I didn't really want to! And @BackdoorHippie will be happy to find out I'm really good with doing searches. ;) This was literally the very first thing I found.

I just accidentally discovered how to change brush sizes with the scroll wheel but it's not a fast option. If you open your brush window and click within the numerical value box, then scrolling up and down changes the size of the brush.

All those years and I never used that.

Or faster, hold B (windows) while scrolling.

Hmmm PS tricked me. I wanted to use it but the size in/decrease I see is just proportional to the zoom level. It only does the actual zooming when I release. I set two key commands to brush sizing and am done with it.

I was editing a photo a few days ago and went to use the healing brush. Normally you see the circle and can adjust it to the size you want. This day no circle, just a cross hair. Odd. Went to use the brush for my copy-write and again normally I see my name and can move it around for placement and then click to place it. Nope, not today, just the cross hair. I would have been pulling my hair out if I had any. Finally figured it out. The cap lock was on.

It is amazing to me how simple some things can be and how difficult Adobe can make them.

Did you maybe hit your brackets key (><)? If that happens, there's only a crosshair but it's because the brush size has been set to 1 pixel.

In mine Caps Lock does nothing but the brackets drove me crazy because you're that annoyed and looking for that darn brush you completely overlook the size.

Nope, As soon as I turned the caps lock off it went back to the correct way of operating. I switched it back on and it went back to cross hairs.

One of the best things to do with PS (or any new program for that matter) is to print out a listing of the keyboard shortcuts and keep it handy.

Inevitably, one day you (or a kid/cat/gremlin) are going to hit a key by accident that really gums up the works and you'll have no idea why LOL. We've all been there. It's almost maddening.

I used to have a very expensive wireless gaming/mechanical keyboard. Used to, because I got ticked off working in PS one day and broke it in half. Turns out, the batteries were just dead. Works great now. Except for that being broken in half thing.
