s5200 plugged in to charge, charge indicator flashes 7 times and stops

Hi I just bought my s5200 cool pix (three weeks ago) and the battery indicated it was low then the camera turned off automatically. I plugged it in and the charge indicators flashed 7 times then went off and does not come back on unless I unplug the cord or open the battery. After I unplug and plug back in it flashes 7 times and stops again. I cannot get it to connect to my computer and I have tried plugging it into the computer and the wall with no luck. Help. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks

Hi and welcome...If it has warranty take it back...Sounds like it may have a problem...

Curious to know outcome as i am having the exact same issue with my brand new nikon s5200. I am usually a nikon girl but not today, so sad to have this happen, esp on my vacation!
