I took a little trip last weekend and had a chance to cruise a bit of the old Route 66. For the most part, there's not much left of the old Route 66 but there are a few tidbits of the past.

Route 66 is on our "bucket list". We drove nearly all of its remaining miles in NM and AZ, but want to do much more. We bought several books to guide us, as it can be confusing in some locations. Superb shots Dave -- each one builds incentive for my wife and I to quit work and hit the road.

I realized something while looking at these images all together in one place - it's not a good idea to mix up different rendering styles in the same series. So I re-jigged them all to a single rendering style. To me, having them all the same gives the series much more continuity and it doesn't feel as scattered as the first one. But I don't know, maybe having them varied isn't such a big thing? What do you all think? All the same or the mix is fine?

I certainly prefer the first set you posted. The style of rendering. To me the second set is over processed... That's me. I saw no problem in mixture on first set... They are awesomeJD.

I think I preferred the first set. The changes in rendering made the photos more interesting to the eye in my opinion. Stunning pictures and great work.

I like the second set. Details, dynamic range, shadows, saturation are all not overly done
great job ... nice photos too ... Reminds me of that animation movie 'Cars'
