Message: <blockquote data-quote="RockyNH_RIP" data-source="post: 381844" data-attributes="member: 10784">Thanks Marcel...    I am running mine on the 7100 (so far w/o the battery grip).  It is heavy but not unwieldy, though you need to maintain adequate shutter speed.   So far all of mine have been handheld yet I would like to try it with a monopod (which I have).  I do try and brace myself if I can (tree, truck, fence).  I find I am much "less" steady shooting upwards, moon, objects flying (birds/planes) due to weight balance.Regarding actually weights, listed for Nikon is 3.39# (1.54kg) and 4.3#(1.95kg) for the Tamron.   So, the Tamron is almost a pound heavier but I find the balance to be quite good.Pat in GA</blockquote>
