<blockquote data-quote="RockyNH_RIP" data-source="post: 139881" data-attributes="member: 10784">I dont think I ever really did...&nbsp;&nbsp; He had an episode in Jan with what appeared to be an abcess which they drained.&nbsp; End of Feb, I noticed it swollen (lump) around upper canine and took him to the vets.&nbsp; They immediatley sheduled him for surgery for a tumor, got what they could and sent it for biopsy.&nbsp; The vet could not get it all as it was into/around the jawbone.&nbsp;&nbsp; It came back non malignant and extrememely rare fast growing tumor that grabs to bone &amp; tissue.&nbsp;&nbsp; He refered us to New England Veterinary Oncology group and we met with a specialist.&nbsp; She indicated it would likely grow back within 6 months and recomended surgery over radiation etc.&nbsp; Long story short, had a CScan done, met with a board cert surgeon who confirmed surgery was best...&nbsp; involved removal of 1/2 the right side upper jaw bone.&nbsp;&nbsp; (Dogs recover well and function well after this).&nbsp;&nbsp; He had the surgery a week &amp; 1/2 ago..&nbsp;&nbsp; Pathology report came back Thursday..&nbsp; &nbsp; Confirmed Non-Malignant and that the surgeon got it all!!!&nbsp; &nbsp; (Great news for us).&nbsp;&nbsp; Wed, back to surgeon for follow up check and removal of cone.&nbsp;&nbsp; He is playful, eats like a pig and acting totally normal!!&nbsp; Sorry to be so long...Pat in NH</blockquote>
