Hubby and I were discussing a road trip "vacation" for our 30th wedding anniversary in 18 months time.
He wants to do coast to coast

and I'm happy to do that as long as we get to see some great sights (I just hope he doesnt want to do it on a motorbike!). He's talking about a 3 week trip to see as much as we can.

I would like to go to Yellowstone, Yosemite and the Grand Canyon... but once you get further inland, I havent a clue whats there! Not sure where we are flying into and out of yet, we're pretty flexible with this.

So, where would YOU like to see if you got the chance... what else is in that huge country

I want this trip to be a photography trip of a lifetime :)

Where to go, where to go!

Congrats on the 30 years. My wife and I recently celebrated 42.
As far as places to go: Now that I have a decent camera, I wish I could go back to the Rocky Mountains (any Part of them) or on the opposite end of the spectrum, the Bayou areas around New Orleans.

Congrats on the 30yrs :) all I can say is plan it out well and time arrivals well before sunset in major places to allow travel time to get that magical sunset ;) Oh and rise early to catch that amazing light that I only normally see when I am working lol.

Planning it out early is why we are starting now. We want to make sure we hit as much as we can in the time we have. Once we know the key places we want to see, we can start working out the routes, and whats along those routes.. and then the timings :) End of May should mean that the mountain ranges are pretty snow free :)

Congrats on 30 years. We just passed 38, and planning out 40th.
I was going to suggest East coast, but I see you've been to NYC (not just the tourist places - The REAL NYC. Brooklyn. Bronx. Queens) and Boston. Anywhere here in the Northeast is nice, from Maine on down.
New Orleans is great. Memphis too. Chicago. Farmlands in the midwest - Iowa, Kansas. Niagara Falls. The plains of Texas. Blue Ridge Mountains North Carolina. Great Lakes in Michigan and Ohio. Farms in upstate New York. Las Vegas.
California. Wine country. Drive down Pacific Coast highway fro San Francisco to San Diego in a convertible. Absolutely beautiful.
I've been fortunate enough to see these and many more.
3 weeks may not be enough!!!
