" Regrets, I have few, but then too few to mention" So goes the old song and heaven knows I've always done it my way. But one of those regrets is that I did not take up the camera until my 39th year. And I can not for the life of me remember what i was doing that was so important. And even then I entered into my photography half-heartedly. Like many others I would shoot a roll of film and send it off to the developers, leaving most of the most important decisions in the hands of others. It was not until I purchased my first digital camera, the D50, that I came to understand that a great opportunity now existed to control every aspect of my photo's journey from camera to printed image. I became the developer, editor and printer. For the first time in my life, my photos became my sole creation. They would succeed or fail by my efforts alone. Now my photography consumes a greater deal of my time than any other pursuit. Ah, how wonderful it would be to 21 again and know what I know now. Imagine the body of work that these young photographers can amass in a lifetime. Their work, with application, can be awesome. And how great for them to come upon a site like this and have the befit of so many good mentors.:biggrin-new:
