I wouldn't worry too much about buying a used kit lens. Often on Craigslist here is the pair of kit lenses (18-55 and 55-100 ) super cheap....and both are very good pieces of camera kit.(great lens btw both the VR and VR II)Be patient and thee shall score a sweet dealeo!</blockquote>
