Recommend an industrial type or good photo printer

I'm looking for a fast, portable and good quality photo printer that can make 4x6 and 5x7 prints. I'm not sure if anyone uses one for their business.

I have a Xerox color laser printer at home but I don't like the images that comes out of it.
Power requirement: 100 ~ 120 VAC
Must be windows or Mac compatible
Price: not so important but must be compact or portable to take with me during events. I'm more concern on ordering toner supplies and photo papers since I'm in Japan but I can order from U.S. online stores.

Thank you.

I have a Canon Pro Pixma 9000 Mk II. It is a superb picture printer which will print all the way to 13"x19". They can be found on Fleabay for $200. Not exactly portable but it makes for a great bench printer. It uses 8 color cartridges plus black I get the cartridges from LD products for about $6 apiece.

Do you use the LD Remanufactured inkjet cartridges? That is a great price if the ink is any good and last as long as the OEM cartridges do. I use HP 920XL Just bought the set of four today and it was close to $80

I'm looking at shooting a lot of formal balls, parties, JS Proms, etc. where high capacity, high volume printing will be expected.

This is what I have researched so far.

That looks great and the dye sub is supposed to be very high quality. the thing I would worry about is how many prints per cartridge or whatever the ink is in and the cost per print. You can always build that into the cost to customer.

Yes and they are very good. I had to do some printer color re-calibrations once I switched from Canon inks but have had no problems in the three years I have used them. Canon's OEM cartridges are 3x the price and the final quality is no better whatsoever, just 3x as expensive. Luckily for me, Forrest set me straight!

I am considering the wireless printer for easier and faster work flow. The initial cost is probably a lot but that's no different with the amount of cash that I already spent with my camera equipment.

So there's a good demand for photographers for those events over there right now?

Yes. There is only one that does it so far and they charge $12 per 4 x 6 print. There are times that the photographer cannot accommodate everyone so I might as well step in and tap into the business.

What I visualize is similar to the amusement parks where they take your picture, sends it directly via wifi or transfer via card reader, select image, print and collect cash.
