I'm looking for a "day bag" for my newly acquired D800/16-35 F4/70-200 F4.

It's main use is for days out/travel/holidays, I already have a modified hiking backpack for out and about in the mountains so it's just for cities etc.

Ideally I'd like it to be reasonably discrete, take the D800 with the 70-200 F4 attached (10 inches) and have some space for a bit of personal gear

Thanks

Since I'm a big Lowepro fan, I'd recommend the Messenger Pro 180, or the Lowepro Sling 202. Perfect for what you want to do.

I'm a big fan of the LowePro Sling 202 as well. Holds my D3100 with the 70-300 VR on it and still allows my 18-55 kit lens, remote shutter release, lens cloth, couple of lens pens, etc. with extra room still.

Had a look at the 202, certainly looks a possibility as at 11 inches deep it should take the D800+70-200F4.

Looking at messenger bags favourite seem to be either the Lowepro Messenger pro 180 or the Think Tank retrospective 20

I have the 160, its a fantastic bag. Plenty of room, someone else on here wanted a picture of how I had it setup so see below.
I carry a D7000 w/grip, 18-105, 85 or 50 and my 70-200 f4. Usually one of the 3 is mounted, plenty of depth and width if you have a grip on your camera. On the bottom of the picture, there is a flap that goes between the camera and the 70-200, I just put the camera in for a photo and wasn't paying attention. Plenty of protection.
