Recomendations for Camera bag or backpack needed

Well I'm in serious need of a camera bag or backpack, now that I have 3 Nikon's and a variety of lenses. I've been looking at Tamrac expedition series and at Kata pro lite series backpacks, since they seem to be made pretty good and I need it to hold at least 2 Nikon's. I don't want to have to go searching in three or four cases or bags to find a lens or something either. Lol :)
I might be able to come up with $250.00, but I would prefer it if it was a bit lower. Lol :)

I just don't want to regret not getting a better one later with a bit more room in it, if you know what I mean.

I appreciate your help! :D

Hi Bill. The expedition looks big enough to accommodate most of your toys. With two or three bodies, you might have to store the other cameras without the lens mounted.

The Domke bag that I recently purchased is pretty big and can accommodate most of my lenses with two bodies.

I use a Lowepro stealth reporter for single camera transport and a Lowepro computreker plus than can hold 2 bodies, 3-4 lenses and 2 flashes. The stealth was $150 +/- and I got the backpack off ebay for under $100. In my opinion Lowepro makes great products and they last forever. Look for them used on ebay.

Yours looks pretty good Glenn! How are you liking it so far my friend? I'm considering the Tamrac expedition 8X I found used, or maybe a smaller one like the 7X, or 6X. I haven't found anything that looked more protective in my price range so far.

I'll have to give them a second look then. The ones I looked at didn't seem so great, so I'll look closer at the lowepro for an option! Thanks for the heads up!:)

Thanks Bill. I really like the padding which are nice and thick to provide that protection. I do not take this bag with me all the time but it is mainly used to store most of my frequently used lenses. I brought it with me last weekend on one of my paid photo shoot and I am pretty happy with this bag. Tamrac expedition bags are also nice and offers similar configuration and room to accommodate mixed lenses and flashes.

The padding can be remove and the bag can be used as a regular backpack.

Well, I swear by Lowepro bags. Well built, guaranteed for life, and they do the job. My Computrekker holds all three of my cameras, plus lenses and flash, plus memory cards, nic nacs, etc. Can't beat it.

If you have a camera store then check out the different models. Bestbuy has a decent selection as well.

i have two that are in rotation. One is a case logic backpack that holds all of my gear. The other is my daily go everywhere bag, it's a messenger style. I chose the lowepro Aw 160 for numerous reasons, but the main one was the comfort and ease of access the messenger offered. For this one I liked the rugged material because I spend most of the time on baseball or football field and the it also has a rain sleeve that pulls out if I get stuck in the rain.

So think about how you will use and go from there. I believe most bags offer an all weather type, but I just like lowepro. I actually have 5 all together and 4 are lowepro if that says anything.

crumpler bag is another line I looked at but couldn't get my hands on one.

good luck, it won't be your last one, at least it wasn't for most photons I know.

Well I've found 2 domke backpacks that look great, though very different than Glenn's. One called an armadillo, and the other called iguana. Both run about $250-$270 normally and I found some from $100-150 the armadillo runs $110 used instead of the $270 new and the iguana runs $150 new instead of the $250 new.
So I'm seriously thinking of getting the armadillo for storage mostly and then look later at the lowepro for a regular carry backpack. :)

I agree with you about the ending up with several bags over time! Lol I figure I will be buying more, in a few brands now that I got the great recommendations! :D
My next one will need to be smaller and easy to carry I think. :)

Yep, I have one from my film camera that I really like for the camera and one lens, it's limited but kind of nice when I don't need the extra space.

my wife just laughs at me and will proceed to say don't you have enough, I just smile and remind her of purse collection.

Well I finally got the Domke Armadillo backpack bought. There was an issue with the seller's secondary email getting mixed up with his PayPal email, ending up,after hours, with us canceling the first transaction and relisting and my buying it again. But it finally worked. Lol :D
Thanks very much for the recommendations everybody! I will keep the brands you brought to my attention in mind as I purchase more camera bags! Lol :D
