It's a low light magnolia wall, she is one of those cats that particularly has a fluffy exterior I was also playing with my f1.8, I'll post the mid range image tho when I'm next on the pc..
Your profile say no editing so I won't post my edits but the first shoot looks much better to me with a proper white balance adjustment (right now it's heavy on the red and green). With the white balance adjusted and a little tweak to the Vibrance and Contrast the shot really popped. You also might want to consider cropping to 5:7; reducing the negative space on the left edge.

Well the first thing I did was correct the White Balance; that was the biggest adjustment. Then I tweaked the Vibrance, Saturation and Contrast.Excellent, can you list what you did there?
