You just have to remember that the "raw" file has all the information collected by the sensor at time of shooting. The "jpeg" is only the raw file passed through the in-camera processing. So if you go for B&W, the jpeg will be in B&W but the raw will remain color.Sometimes it saves post processing if you know for example that your shots will be going to a B&W newspaper for example.Hope this helps.</blockquote>
