Since thunderstorms during this time of year in FL can happen at any moment, and quite often do, I keep the poncho with me because it can keep both me and the gear dry with it.  It is as the saying goes around here, "if you don't like the weather, give it a few minutes, it will change". You really do not need to get really fancy with it, whatever keeps it dry will work just fine.</blockquote>
