Just got new 10 inch tablets for both my wife and myself. Now we can get rid of the bulky Nikons. :cool:

Actually I did get a wireless adapter for my D7100 and the app for the tablet. It does a great job of transferring. Will be nice for looking at the photos on the computer while we are out and about shooting and also for the once in a while I want to send a photo then and there to Facebook or I might even send one to Nikonites just for fun.

How about talking on a cell at 2 or 3 times normal voice level or taking a phone call during a movie in a movie theater. I was in Carl's the other day enjoying a burger and a guy in another booth starts streaming video on one of those large table phones (which I would love to have, BTW), but instead of using a headset to listen he played the sound through it's speaker so loud the whole restaurant could hear it. I asked him to kill the sound so he plugged in his headset. I guess people assume we want to share their phone conversations?

I tend to think it isn't a status statement - let's face it - it's not much of status symbol if everyone has these gadgets. Many have little social awareness or consideration for other people in public places. My aunt used to repeat a saying which I'm sure many have heard, "You can dress 'em up, but you can't take 'em out."

I have all my photos on my 128GB iPad Air, which I get by syncing to my Mac. I have and SD card adapter so I can take them direct if I don't have computer access.

incidentally, I tend to return from a snapping session, copy the shots off on to iPhoto, open up Aperture, do my culling and basic post (usually no more than auto-enhance and tilt), then agree with the wife (sometimes) which go to Flickr. I usually, but not always, only put Flickr photos on here. I find some shots I go for are because there's a place on here for them.

On a walk on Thursday I came across a riverside pub called The Mayflower, which sat overlooking the ship as she was victualled ready to invent you Septics! Unfortunately, the snaps are poor but I'll post when I get the chance.

My mom who is 76 years old does this. She uses a tablet to take photos. She has a camera and all but since she got that tablet, she's been using it to take photos. Now I've never asked her why, but then she gets good photos with it and I guess being that it's a bigger screen, it's easier for her to focus and frame what she's shooting and can also see how the photo looks like. And no, she doesn't have big pockets to put it in and I don't also subscribe to the idea that she uses it because it's the "in" thing to do. ;) Maybe I'll ask her today when I see her.
