Not on the D3200, the main thing that is missing for me....You have to do it manually, 8-15 seconds approx for me using exposure comp and aperture mode.

Had a fun day with the camera today after getting a bit more comfortable with it after having it in my actual hands! I am new to anything outside of "Point and shoot" camera's so it can be a bit overwhelming, but I am excited about it, and that usually leads me towards learning quickly! Here is a shot of my angry cat after the superbowl power outage (She loves random motion on TV, and was glued to the game untill the outage). I was being starred down by "Mini-Cat" after I deprived her of random TV action for about a half hour...

Personally, I really like the expeed 3 sensor of the d3200. The lack of bracketing is one feature that I miss with it, but then I have my d600 if I want to bracket. I don't do that often enough to see it as a problem with the d3200. This was one of my first shots out of camera with the d3200.

Very nice! I am considering getting the 35mm 1.8 Prime lens. It seems to be widely highly recommended and is not very expensive. And I would get pretty wide usage out of a fixed 35mm I think.

I had just purchased this camera when I went visiting downtown Indianapolis last May. I forgot to pack my camera so I went to Roberts and bought this camera with the 18-55 kit lens.
Its a great fun camera and light enough to carry everywhere. Although I have recently purchased a D600... and had a d300s... both capable of great shots... I keep the d3200 with me everywhere I go.
I also have the 35 1.8 great lens as well.

Making me jealous now, I crave the D600...That said I do love my D3200 and have taken some wonderful shots with it. When I do upgrade I will keep my D3200 and lenses as trade in prices are pathetic.
I currently have a 50mm 1.8D, but also considering the 35mm 1.8 as I would get back auto focus, but most of the time I have either my 50mm or my Tamron 60mm macro on the camera, and find for most situations Idont eed a zoom, I just move myself, though I think I would benefit from the wider view of the 35mm.
Forgot to mention I like HDR, hence why I need bracketing.

The kit lens 18-55 works really well on this camera if you want wider than 35mm. A little more money spent you could get a 16-85 which is a perfect walk around lens. the 18-200 is also a good walk around lens, but I personally like the 16-85 or the 18-55 with this camera body

I am going to do some shots with my 18-55 set at 35mm, and see how I feel about that fixed focal length. I will be doing a decent amount of automotive/car show photography, and am wanting a decent lens for that. Hoping the 35mm 1.8 is a good fit, as I like the price!

If you can you should look for a good runout price on the 'probably soon to be discontinued' D7000. If you get a 3200 you will most likely outgrow it in 2 years. If you get a D7000, you will never need another camera!

D3200 has already been purchased. Right now, my general plan was to get into a decent camera over buying another point and shoot as I take a lot of random pictures for my many other hobbies, but wasn't really planning on taking up photography as a hobby. If I grow attached to photography in a hobby sense, I can easily see me upgrading down the road. If I was to start out looking at something more expensive, it could have easily become a "This is too expensive to get started in" type deal, and I would have ended up buying nothing. Hope that makes sense. I already have a very expensive custom car hobby, and RC airplane hobby, among others...

I purchased a 35mm 1.8 Prime lens tonight. This thing focuses insanely fast. I will play with it this weekend, but I am sure I will be quite happy, haven't seen a bad review on it yet! I purchased a really nice $80 Nikon branded bag for my gear, and a few other things. I would like to get one of the nice bags that come with the Niccor lenses when you purchase them for my kit 18-55mm so I have a nice bag for all my lenses. My bag works well with my 3 lenses, and the camera without lens attached, I would like to be able to put the 18-55mm in the same type of bag. Already ordered an F-mount back cap for the lens that is nicer than the white plastic one they give you in the kit. i think I have put myself together a nice starter kit, and can't wait for some nicer weather!

you'll probably find that the 35mm is almost a permanent fixture on your 3200, great lens, great kit, enjoy it!

I hear this often! I am new to this, but know I am going to stick with this. I have a ton of hobbies, and I have always taken a lot of pictures with my "Point and shoot" camera's for years of my other hobbies/projects. It will not only be fun to get into this hobby, but I will have better documentation of my other hobbies as well. Me and 2 of my brothers are going to do so Automotive photography tomorrow, can't wait to see the feedback from this lens. Seems like you get a lot from the money!
