These birds simply don't look like they should be able to fly. They are incredibly beautiful, though!
Fantastic shots. I am jealous!
They can fly like they have a rocket up there ar$e so well done.
After my more than disappointing jaunt all the way to the coast to specifically see puffins, and managing to see a grand total of two at a considerable distance, this is not what i need!
Great shots...not envious at all..:crushed:
Come to Isle of May! Seriously. I know it is a long trip for you, but the place is fantastic. I have never seen that many birds in one place in my entire life. I think there is a boat from North Berwick, so you don't have to come all the way to Anstruther.
Or, you can try Farne Islands, much closer to you.
PS: they say there are 40,000 pairs of puffins not he island, so yes, they are everywhere.
Out of interest how much does a trip to the Isle of May cost (any extra landing charges) and how long do you get to spend on the Island. I felt my trip to the Farnes was far too brief, although there was a full day trip which lands on two Islands.
