Hi everyone. 
I am about to start to organise/ reorganise all my photos. I currently store them on my hard drive until the year end and then move them to an external hard drive, but I have noticed that this seems to cause an issue with the catalog system. My external drive is getting old, and I dont want to risk losing my photos, so I am investing in 2 new bigger ones, one for my photos, and one to backup everything (including backing up my photos). 
 
Is it worth starting again, new catalogs, (one for each year) or putting everything in one catalog as I do now! I know I havent used this software to its fullest extent, (mainly use the editing side) but I want to easily be able to find my photos going forward!
