[QUOTE="Moab Man, post: 206524, member: 11881"] Day 282, 2013 - Beautifully Painful This plant (used above in the unsuccessful flash focus stack) caught my eye when I was riding my bicycle home. However, many beautiful things in the desert will really hurt you, kind of like everything in Australia seemingly will kill you. Not sure why that is that beautiful things will hurt or kill you, but I decided to brave the hurt and bring a piece of this weed home because it was so beautiful. The stem of the plant is striped in vibrant green and a shade of red. The flowers are both translucent and a shade of red (like most males I can't tell you what color that red is so I will just refer to it as a "shade" of red) with a highly reflective surface which presented some picture challenges. Please enjoy these tiny little flowers with their numerous hidden painful spears.
