Day 268, 2013 - Death of a Season I am a big believer in pretending it's not there and maybe it will go away. My wife and I try this thinking so desperately with winter that we won't even acknowledge that white stuff that falls and refer to it as sea foam. In spite of my ignoring the colder morning when I ride my bike twelve miles to work, and the fact the white balance in the world appears to be off because the trees are no longer the proper green they should be, it appears that summer is dying. The mountains out my front window appears to have the first sea foam of the season on them between 8-10,000 feet. If this sea foam creeps down 3000 feet more to where I live and I will truly cry. So here is my dreary picture of the day. On the top left you can see the towers that sit dormant for just a little while longer before they will spring to life for those with cartilage in there knee(s) and like to slide down this stuff. Below the towers, mixed in with the sea foam and underlying yellowish color is the first of summer foliage that has passed. Towards the bottom of the photo you can see the last vestige of summer color being chased down off the mountain. All of you hanging upside down on the bottom of the earth... here comes your summer at the expense of us up north. No need to say thank you or anything. :dejection:
