[QUOTE="Moab Man, post: 173661, member: 11881"] Day 200, 2013 - Starburst I call this shot Starburst because it looks like a shot you might see from space. However, it is actually the moon with the right atmospheric conditions. I absolutely LOVE this shot and am proud of it. Truth be told though, I can't take a whole lot of credit. This shot was more of a mad scientist standing there in the dark playing with my camera. Even though I knew how to take a moon shot I sat there messing around with adding a little newts eye, take out the wing of bat, and so on just to see what would happen as I broke the know how rules. Post processing was a matter of raising the contrast between light and dark, getting rid of the filth (color) of city lights (I was actually in the city park), and then sharpening to again increase the contrast between light and dark and not to much to sharpen the image. Other than feeling the lag of staying up past midnight, and my bedtime, to take this picture, it was just fun to do and worth the bit of lag I feel today. And why is it that bedtime for adults is always earlier than it is for our older children? :) Click the picture to see the detail of the stars, the thumbnail is too small.
