Well here's the latest on my studio lighting set-up. Last week I bought triggers for my speedlights. They came in a kit of (4) I have three speed lights. After we were playing around with them we decided to buy another Amazon.com: Neewer TT560 Flash Speedlite For Canon/Nikon Digital SLR Cameras: Electronics. This way we will have three of all of the same and not worry about mixing Nikon and third party speedlights together and keep everything set up downstairs and not have to worry about breaking a trigger disconnecting my SB700 if I want to take it out of the house. The triggers work and are nice but I find them very fragile when it comes to the mounting points and can see they are not going to hold up to repeated use coming on and off the flash stands. After reading Rick's post about backdrops we looked around and ordered this tonight Amazon.com: CowboyStudio Hand Painted 10 X 12 ft Muslin Photo Backdrop Background - W001: Camera & Photo We went with the larger size so we could shoot more of a full body shot. My basement has a low ceiling and with the help of some PC pipe and some rope the backdrop will be easy to hang. Next step would be to pick up some light stands (kits) umbrellas and or some speedlight softboxes, then make / buy a backdrop stand so the set up could go out of the house.
