Hi, just thought I'd provide an update regarding my D7100. I tried cleaning the contact points on the camera body as well as on the 50mm, but still no success. I took it to the store where I purchased the camera and asked them to test it out for me, and they too could not explain the malfunction. After continued testing, we realised that it was affecting Nikkor lenses alone i.e. compatible Sigma lenses were fine. The configuration of the contact points differs from one lens-type to the other and the body has developed a fault when it comes to reading from the Nikkor lens....for some obscure reason. Anyway, the body is only 3 months old so they will be replacing it for no cost. On a related note - I have the option of upgrading the body as opposed to swapping like for like, does anyone think there will be a D7200 or another DX format flagship out anytime soon? Thanks, sharpsnapper.
