Hey guys! I have a brand new D750. I've had it out for about six shoots... I'm going to contact Nikon tomorrow... but thought I'd check to see if this is an easy fix. I'm attaching what I see when I look through the viewfinder (this is always on\ even when the camera is off)... and I also see it when I take the lens off and I'm looking at the sensor. I've gone through every menu item to turn off and on viewfinder settings autofocus illumination etc. \ changed batteries \ reset to factory default (although it didn't seem to reset). This just started showing up today. I had a shoot Friday and the camera was fine. Just a normal viewfinder that showed just the one spot of focus. I also changed all the autofocus options and it still shows this. The image itself looks blurry through the viewfinder even if it's in focus (the photos are focusing and they are turning out okay but I cannot see through the viewfinder because it wants to show me all the frame seen here... it's dim and blurry with the 51 focal points showing. I've been using Nikon cameras for 10 years (D70 D200 D700s D600 D800 and now the D750) and have never seen this happen before. Basically I've tried everything and this grid thing doesn't ever go away. It is always on no matter what setting I have on the camera. I've poured over the manual to no avail. I figure it's a malfunction... but again... just wanted to check in case I've just accidentally pushed something. Oh... and I should mention that even though I reset to factory default my settings are all still recorded. I can still back button focus etc... which is weird because I didn't reprogram my camera to do that. I can see it resetting for a few other areas (for instance it wants to record as a JPEG)... but it's weird that it wouldn't reset the programmed buttons. THat's why I wonder if it's something on my end. Notice that effects comes up in the left hand corner... and there is a battery symbol and those extra lines/frames... I should also mention that when I'm in live mode this grid goes away. Weird! It's just the viewfinder and the sensor. Cheers and thank you!
