A little of both? I had seen pics of the scrabble letters on a mirror before, but I wanted to mess a bit with some focal zoom to add a "dreamier" sense to it, or something more surreal, and the blurred letters on the end with the ones in the middle staying in focus and higher detail... Messed with colors and detail and focal zooms here and there, then stumbled on the holga effects in Perfect Effects 8. WIN! Got an even better look, IMO, as the holga gave a double shadow, almost like hand shake on a slightly longer exposure. (it was also helped by the cheap mirror giving a tiny bit of double reflection as well) I've got ideas, now, to catch a reflection or two of paradise type settings along with the word "DREAM" in the mirror, then actually snap the mirror by itself in much more mundane settings, swap out the reflections, and.... I'm sure you see where I'm going. ;) It's going to be a BIG task to match what I can see in my head, and I think I'll actually need to use mirrored tiles (and perhaps something with larger letters) to capture the fullness of the scenes I'm envisioning. Combine that with the fact that my trip to Florida through the last week of August is going to be more focused on R&R than capturing the PERFECT dabbling shot project and... well, it may never happen. LOL I may end up using local park scenes and such instead, somewhere far down the road, never know.
