Day 122 - LaFortune and the D7100 Decided to get in a round of shots with the 70-300 today! :) Started out in the rare hopes these guys would be back, as I had only come across them once in the overflow/drainage area. Luck payed off! I present the Yellow Crowned Night Heron, with no yellow on him at all, and out in the bright noonday sun. Moved around to the pond area and found this guy in FULL stretch, soaking up the rays. Seeing more and more of the Scissortail Flycatcher this year. Makes me happy! This little Great Tailed Grackle lass was darting around the edge of the pond chasing something. Caught a decent motion shot, although I still needed HIGHER shutter speed. I think she was trying to nab a small snake or something. Never could get a good glimpse of her prey. Heavy crop of a little lass I spotted on the way back to the car. This bloom is smaller than the fingernail on my pinky.
