Day 57 - Bird's Eye View I *ALWAYS* see hawks when I don't have the time to stop, or don't have the camera... so this time, I went down the road where I commonly spot them with no other plan than to catch a shot. Spotted two LARGE beauties on the lines by the road, so pulled over, hopped out of the car... and they took off. :( Apparently, they don't like people! One came part of the way back, but landed in a tree instead of on the lines, so I took a different approach. SLOW walk to get within at least a visible range with my 70-300, snapped a shot, walked a "little" closer, snapped another shot, but you could tell I was creating a disturbance. Next shot, I stayed in place as she gathered up to leap, and the last shot... Rump of hawk, flying off to more private areas of the woodlands. I've gotta find a regular and set up a blind soon!! Without further ado, the Red Shouldered Hawk (all heavily cropped from a 300mm shot): Then... a VERY rare sight? Is it??? COULD IT BE!? It IS!!! A real phone booth!! So rare these days, I'll bet if I stick around with the camera, I'll get a chance to snap a shot of Clark Kent soon!!
