Day 22 - Inspiration Why do I title today "Inspiration" you might ask? There are a couple of reasons. First, seeing Lawrence's shot of a candle reminded me I had been wanting to try the same thing. Soon, I want to try shooting a LOT of candles, but for now... I just want to learn the capabilities of my camera in new settings. Soon I'll test faces with only a candle for lighting, etc... but for today, a candle (thanks for the inspiration, Lawrence!). Secondly, while shooting these pics, it served to remind me that, at times, we come across people in dark places... maybe just a foul day, perhaps just a rough spot in their lives, or maybe, like an abused child, right in the middle of the darkest of nights. There may even be times that we are the only light they may see, whether it be in that moment or in their lives. If you're that light in the darkness... well... where are you leading them? It's something to think about. As a neighbor? As a co-worker? As a friend? As a defender? As a... parent? Wow, deep thoughts, and I'm not even Jack Handy. Ok, the humor didn't fit there... Make tomorrow a good day. Be that brief spot of light for someone. You never know the impact it will have... Plus, I can pretty much guarantee it'll make your own day better too! (ISO 400, f8, 1/200 - shot with my 70-300VR because I was being lazy and would rather zoom than move around)
