I have read that manual and frankly I am just not clear.  In order to work both the body IBIS and lens VR must be on.  I did find in my handbook David Busch and he explained ,that that and F-mount lenses with VR and the IBIS do work together. I know I am a bit  better able to hold the big gun, but it does seem focus better.  I was excited at how I could pull the Cardinal out of the surrounding branches, and I was surprised at the shutter speed.  I got in a rush and didn't realize I had crank edit down that far..</blockquote>
