And that lens weighs about the same as the Nikon 300mm f/4 AF-S. When dealing with that much weight, it isn't easy to carry for extended periods of time. Plus the fact that the 300mm AF-S lacks VR means having especially strong arms and hands to support it (or requires a monopod/tripod). This Sigma looks like it is still somewhat heavy, but since it is shorter than your Tamron, it should be easier to hold steady. And because it is f/1.8, it will be amazing! Congrats, Paul.
