Message: <blockquote data-quote="Fortkentdad" data-source="post: 643248" data-attributes="member: 24285">I tried to shoot both images about the same - but certainly not a clinically identical shot.  On the one hand, I'm ecstatic that I have a great lens for $25.  On the other hand I feels maybe, just maybe I didn't need to spend a grand to get the Artsy new lens.  One difference is the focus speed - the AF uses the camera to focus - there is no motor in the lens - the Sigma focuses faster.  But the Nikon AF focus is fast enough for 98% of the shots I'd take.  May make a difference trying to get a fast moving subject - like a grand child or puppy - when they are not sitting still.</blockquote>
