Although I really didn't need anything photography-related, I stopped into Allen's Camera where they were having their annual sale. Picked up a NOS Gitzo series 2 monopod (aluminum) which is no longer manufactured. It was also on sale so am very happy. Currently I've been using a Manfrotto monopod, but I prefer twist locks as opposed to the flip locks on the Manfrotto. Will put my Manfrotto monopod head on it though since I am not a fan of Arca Swiss heads. A few years back, I also bought their last aluminum Gitzo series 2 tripod which is terrific. It's a shame Gitzo no longer makes aluminum tripods or monopods. They are extremely well-made. And I also spoke with Jared Polin who used to be an employee there. He was helping out in some way. There were also reps from Nikon, Canon, Sigma, Tamron, Fuji, and a few others so many things in the store were on sale. Fun day for sure! :encouragement:
