Took in the Edmonton Photography Trade Show put on my McBain's Camera today. It wasn't a large show but still managed to spend a few dollars and bought a Lowe Pro "Pro Roller x200 AW". We googled up the max dimensions allowed for carry on luggage and this one should be allowed. A couple inches shorter on all dimensions. And at $350 a bit of a bargain (lists $479 (US$?)). I wish I had had it for the recent trip to Ontario we just took. Now to configure it to hold what I typically take on a trip. Now this may not be the place to post a story about what I didn't buy but here it goes anyway. Looked at and was sorely tempted . . . but could not pry open my wallet wide enough to buy the Sigma Artsy 20mm 1.4 lens - took this shot of my dearly beloved looking into the Sigma display case Then we moseyed on over to the next booth and saw an LAOWA 15mm tilt lens. ( LAOWA 15mm f/4 Wide Angle 1:1 Macro Lens | LAOWA Camera Lenses - Venus Optics ) and had to give it a go. Also tried out their 12mm 2.8. These copies are the first in Canada or so the saleman claimed, no sale as they were not yet available for sale at least not in Canada. This sample is from the 15mm F4. These are both fully manual lenses and will take some time to master I am sure. One of the reasons I had gone to the show was to learn more about portable lighting kits and maybe buying one. I didn't get one (will post about that in the forums). Getting a nice portable system is still on my wish list. Here I am not buying this strobe light kit.
