Ok, this is not a latest purchase post, but it is a near miss of one. I went to a retail photo store that I've shopped since the early 1970s as a kid. I went in to buy an Arca-mount plate for a tripod head, some repair parts for a tripod, and a rear-LCD screen loupe. So as I'm waiting for the clerk to look for/find the tripod parts, he asks me what I shoot and I tell him I primarily shoot a D700. Before I know it, he's leading me outside with a new D750/Nikon 200-500 mm AF-S lens combo to try outside. The combo was so good, it took every bit of discipline to walk out of the store without either one or the other, or both of them. If he had said anything like "we have same as cash financing" I would not have been able to resist. This episode rekindled the joy and memories of buying gear from a real store, where although it is a bit more expensive, it was a real hands-on experience. I am now quite confident that I'll be back later this summer and will be purchasing the camera, and possibly the lens, as well. I can hardly wait! WM
