My Archives - At Truman Dam, Warsaw, Missouri. This was taken on the Lake of the Ozarks side of the Dam, at the spillway. Fish from Lake of the Ozarks travel upstream to feed when water is being released at the Dam. To get this shot, I stepped upon the short concrete wall below the chain link fence barrier, and looked straight down. The water was "boiling" with Carp and Channel Cat, and occasional other species. This is, of course, in a "No Fishing" zone. Innovative fishermen used to use RC boats to take their bait/snagging hooks from the allowed fishing area below the Dam, and motor up to the grey area where no fishing was allowed, and a little further when they thought they could get away with it...lol. Naturally, that bit of fun was stopped. This day not much water was being released, and the activity was low. When lots of water is being released, and the Hydroelectric Turbines are in full swing....DINNER IS ON! Makes you think you could walk across the water to the other side on the backs of all the fish. :frog:
