The longer the lens you use and the closer you are to the subject the more difficult it will be to get a focus lock. I quite often shoot hand held with a 70-200VR F2.8 with a 2x teleconverter and with the crop factor of 1.5 ends up being the equivalent of 600mm. If you have a lens that has a focus limiter on it be sure and turn it on so the lens doesn't have to go from one extreme to the other when getting focus.</blockquote>
