I also agree to work with what you have already. As you have a lighting kit, you should really not need much below f9 for lit portrait work / learning :)

Unfortunately I discovered that the lighting kit was not really good for pictures. It comes with 3x85 CFL light bulbs that are OK for video or still-life. With my camera I was really far from decent settings so I decided to buy a couple of speed light and a strobe and stick to my two lenses.

A speedlight is way more expensive than the lenses, unless you buy third party ones.

Hi! I bought Yangnuo speedlights and a 300W Godox Strobe... 230 USD for all three.

I've seen that Yangnuo speedlights are quite widely used and have good reviews. Of course they are not comparable with Nikon ones but they shoud do the job.

One day I'll eventually have a D810 and (at least) 3 Einstein Strobes with lotta modifiers and serious stands and backgrounds...

In the meanwhile China will be my business partner hehe
