POCKETWIZARD – Low Sales and Staff Reduction | FLASH HAVOC

truthfully, its sad that the lower end of the scale, the workers are fired but I couldnt be happier the managerial staff/owners are suffering as well. they raped people for years with overpriced products. there was no competition because no one offered high quality slaves for cheap. there were others but they all were charging through the roof for something every photog needs. you get what u give PW. yongnuo and all the other 3rd party MFR are stealing a HUGE chunk of the their sales. PW are not relevant today in terms of bang for the buck product. they are still quality products but pixel king pro and yongnuo 622n can do what PW can for a fraction of the cost. when I wanted to buy PW plusII they were costing $230 each. I needed at the least 4 $900+. the yn 622n cost $230 for 6 with ttl and HSS. the day of paying huge price tags for quality TTL/HSS slaves are over and IMO there will be cheaper and better slaves coming this summer.

when you pay more, people perceive the PW to be superior than the others. but it isnt so. I use 6 yongnup 622n slaves and theyre just fine. they work great. no need to pay the hige price tag for the PW. like nikon flashes like nikon grips. why the crazy price tag..

I have a feeling either they lower their heads and prices quite some, or face bankruptcy. every few months someone releases new slaves to the market. and excellent manual only 2.4ghz slaves can be bought for $24 shipped for a set. for the price of 1 PW, you can but 6 sets. I have them and they work flawlessly.

Maybe someday they will come up with an annual sale to help boost the sales. I also would like to try them but I don't shoot a lot of images that requires them since I have strobes.

Typical, I invested in some last year!! They are quite good and work nicely with my Sekonic meter. I suspect they need to review their price point as I'm sure people would pay a small preium for them, but they are much more expensive than their functionality can justify. I'm lucky that I get them through the trade so they are just above 1/2 price for me.

prices need to come. They are good quality but its obvious from the lack of sales people are looking elsewhere. They are not the goto company when someone wNts quality slaves. Im seriously considering going for pixel kings. Its more than twice my 622n but im getting lcd screens. They have to lower prices or theyll continue their downward spiral. Firing work force wont affect sales

Thats a nice price for 50% off. i liked the fact that they had the triggers in the light meters. Sadly in tge digital age, i think people are buying much less light meters. I have my 718 with spot attachment and its just collecting dist. Whrn i do family formal pictureS, i just look it over in the screen and adjust on the fly. With film it was critical. Today, not so necessary.

They need lower their prices or this will continue. And imo will only get worse as there tons of companies pushing some very nice slaves lately. Their snobbish arrogance clearly shows. Too proud. I personally think they wont and it will be their downfall.

I only use my meter in studio situations with flash. I don't find it's much benefit for other things.
