I wanted a viewfinder, which are almost extinct. My other hopes were for a fast lens to hopefully be able to blur backgrounds which is very hard to do with mini sensors. Those and RAW shooting were important factors. The G15 fit the bill, especially with a 28-140mm f1.8-2.8 lens.
