3-23-13: Today was a much better day. I went for a walk with the dog, hoping to see something green popping up through the grown ground and snow. I wasn't so lucky in that endeavour, but did get a few photos, plus a very nice walk. This one is of a stream that I have looked at numerous times on my walks. This time, I liked what I saw: Still Cold I have passed this for years, both driving and walking by it. I always wanted to take a photo of it, so today, I did. Which Wheel Steers? According to my spousal unit, this thing is a vintage (1930s or so) rear drag plow. It was made by York Modern Corp, which is still in Unadilla, New York. My parents lived in Unadilla for close to 25 years, after moving from the metro New York area. Ready for Snow Finally, on the last quarter mile of my walk, I noticed these black birds flocking on the top of a tree. I have seen them there the past couple of days. Then, suddenly, they flew off. A few moments later, I noticed a hawk flying nearby. It was not until I enlarged the second photo that I realized the birds were redwing blackbirds. We have a lot of them around here.
