Photoshop CC discount

Awhile back they offered this kind of discount to flickr pro members. I wasn't able to adjust my subscription for that promo. Subscription-based models are probably more profitable and offer more predictable revenue streams for most companies. I'm sure they love herding everyone into this format.

Herding more lambs into the pen?

Call us sheep if you wish, but even with the issues I'm happier working with this than I would be anything else. Heck, if I dropped stuff the first time the company botches a release on me I would have dumped my Nikons 3 years ago. ;)

Naw, wasn't a dig on any issues they may have with the release. Just a bit of humor

I still expect the price to go up considerably once enough people are on the ship :)

I think I have to agree with your last comment, I think the price will go up and steeply knowing Adobe.

I actually don't think the price on the photography subscription. I think if they started going up they would lose subscribers and not get as many new ones then they would not make as much money. I think they have found a price point that people are willing to accept and pay.

Before a stand alone copy of Photoshop and a stand alone copy of Lightroom would cost you close to $750 tp $800. At the rate CC costs it would take 6.5 years to equal that. The vast majority of us would have upgraded at least once if not twice in 6 years.

I would never have bought the stand alone version, would only ever have bought Elements and made that last at least 3 years so they are gaining from me,

As it is, many are not thrilled (including myself) with the way they have been doing updates lately. I keep looking for alternatives but can't find any that fit the total bill.

Things like NIK and DXO and others are wonderful programs, but they are additions to PS/LR, not an alternative. Could I live without PS/LR? Absolutely. Would I want to? Not really. So, untill they really screw up big time, I'll keep on using it.
