Photoshop 6 vs. Elements 14

My old PC with a registered Photoshop 6 died. I bought a new PC but am unable (so far) to locate my original Photoshop 6 installation CD. I cannot afford to Rent Photoshop CC (I am 70 years old and retired and not a professional photographer, plus I object to renting software in principle). So my question is, if I purchase Photoshop Elements 14 (which will use the NIX collection, as l verified by downloading and installing the trial Elements) how much will I be losing converting to Elements? Do I tear apart my house looking for the CD and hope I can install PS6 and use this software on the new PC (I don't know if Adobe will even let me register PS 6 on my new PC) or do I convert to Elements. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

You will miss Photoshop 6. Tear the house apart. Do you still have the email with the codes or is that with the disc too?

I opened my adobe account an it shows that I have CS6 registered in January 2013 and lists the Serial Number. Do you think this will help. Is it possible they will provide me a replacement CD for a reasonable price and allow me to install it on my new PC?
Meanwhile I will keep looking. I did find my old CS4 CD so there is some hope.

There might be a download option. Worth asking

You can install Ps on two machines, so even if the old one was still around you can load it on the new one. Adobe is good about getting you hooked up even if you didn't have the license key.

Again a BIG thank you to Don. I now have my CS6 up an running, updated, NIX collection installed. I did not even have to call Adobe, Yea! Now a couple of more questions:

Since I have a 64-bit Windows 10 system, is there any good reason to keep the 32-bit versions of Photoshop CS6?

I currently have the test version of Photoshop Elements 14 installed. Is their any value to purchasing Elements since I have PS CS6?
