Photos of synchronized diving that yahoo calls "stunning"

Wow. In my personal opinion I wouldn't call any of those stunning. On of the issues is that the Olympics can and does really limit the size of lens used at certain events too. I would want at least a 400 2.8 if I were shooting diving.

i like the "normal" ones. There are a few where the motion has been frozen very well.

Maybe it's just my eyes this morning, but it looked like a lot of the frozen capture ones had out of focus edges or one of the subjects a tad more out of focus. Looks like the could have gone to a higher f stop, but I guess it depends on the lighting.

I have read that the lighting is pretty bad in the swimming venue. I have read about photogs being limited in regards to what equipment they bring in, but i have seen the 800mm there.... strange.

not so sure about the blur ones, some are just too blurred for my taste, I also saw a set over at the news site with all the funny faces the divers make.

Yeah, not so stunned.

I am going to buck the trend and say that I prefer the blurred ones, especially the one where they're still on the boards.

Something I can't quite work out is, are the blurred ones that way because they were altered in post production? Or did the photographer use slow shutter speeds?

I think he farted while he was holding the iPhone. That would also explain some of the faces on the swimmers! :devilish:
