I had a chance to test this out after work so I went out in the yard with the 80-200 mounted on the D7500 and got some interesting results. 80-200 shot through the view finder with manual settings. 80-200 through live view video mode 80-200 view finder 80-200 live view video Crop is different but other than that, very similar results. Holding a lens with some heft to it tends to bring out the wobblys and seeing that VR work through the live view gives some comfort. Its strange though, I set the view finder pics to 1/320 and the live view pics at 1/60 but EXIF says all are shot at 1/320 even though I could see my exposure changing while dialing back to 1/60. Not sure what thats all about but I can see myself using this to stabilize lenses held at weird angles using the flip screen like down low or above my head.
