I think the major problem for me was not knowing how many 'focus moves' I had to make. I couldn't really see the effect via Liveview. Perhaps WiFi/Bluetooth to the iPad may be easier. I just watched a YouTube video on Focus rails but I'm assuming he's doing pro product shots. I only did about 8 shots of the gold coins.
